Button polyps, scientifically known as Zoanthus spp., are a favorite among marine aquarists due to their bright colors and ease of care. These corals thrive in water temperatures ranging from 72°F to 78°F and a pH of 8.1 to 8.4. They can grow quite expansively, often forming colorful carpets across the aquarium substrate or on live rock. Button polyps are well-suited to a variety of light conditions and require moderate water flow. Recognized for their hardiness and simple propagation, they make an excellent choice for both novice and experienced reef aquarists. Their communal nature allows them to coexist peacefully with many other types of marine life, making them a dynamic and attractive addition to any reef tank.
