More about Blacktip grouper

The Blacktip grouper (Epinephelus fasciatus) is a marine fish notable for its whitish to cream body adorned with numerous thin, dark brown to black vertical bars. It also features distinct black tips on its dorsal, anal, and caudal fins. Originating from the Indo-Pacific region, this species is found in coral-rich areas of lagoons and fore-reef slopes. Typically growing to about 40 cm in length, it is recognizable by its robust body and broad head. While it has a presence in the aquarium trade, it is not among the most popular species, partly due to its size and predatory nature, which requires larger tanks and specific care.
