More about Bonnethead shark

The Bonnethead shark (Sphyrna tiburo) is a small species of hammerhead shark distinctly recognized by its shovel-shaped head. Predominantly gray in color, it inhabits the coastal waters of the western Atlantic, from New England to the Gulf of Mexico, and around the coasts of Central and South America. In appearance, it is smaller and less aggressive than its larger hammerhead relatives, reaching an average length of about 3.3 feet (1 meter). While known in marine circles, the Bonnethead shark is not typically prominent in the aquarium hobby due to its size and specific habitat needs, making it less common as a pet or exhibit compared to other marine aquarium inhabitants.
