Coral hogfish

The Coral hogfish, Bodianus mesothorax, features a striking color palette, with a front half that's vivid purple and a yellow back half, separated by a distinctive black spot on the dorsal fin. Originating from the central and western Pacific Ocean, this species is recognized by its elongated body and large, protruding canine teeth. It is relatively well known in the aquarium hobby, appreciated for its vibrant colors, but its size and aggressiveness towards smaller tank mates should be considered by enthusiasts.
