Dracula goby Profile

The Dracula goby (Stonogobiops dracula) is a small, distinctive fish known for its unique coloration, featuring a predominantly pale body with dark spots and vivid red striping around its eyes, mimicking the tale of Dracula. It originates from the Western Pacific Ocean. This species is characterized by its elongated body, large, upward-facing mouth, and the preference for sandy or rubble substrates where it often forms symbiotic relationships with pistol shrimp. Although it is a fascinating species, the Dracula goby is not very well known or common in the aquarium hobby, largely due to its specific care requirements and relative rarity.
