Elongate dottyback

The Elongate dottyback (Pseudochromis elongatus) is a marine fish characterized by its elongated body and vivid coloration, typically ranging from purple to magenta. Originating from the Western Pacific Ocean, specifically around the Philippines and Indonesia, this species exhibits a slender physique and reaches an adult size of about 7 centimeters (2.8 inches) in length. While it possesses striking colors and is suitable for reef aquariums, the Elongate dottyback is not as commonly known or widespread in the aquarium hobby compared to other dottybacks. Its rarity in the hobby is partly due to its specific care requirements and less prevalence in wild populations.
