Ornate wobbegong Profile

The Ornate wobbegong (Orectolobus ornatus) is a species of carpet shark identifiable by its unique, ornate pattern, featuring a blend of browns, yellows, and whites, which serves as effective camouflage against the ocean floor. Originating from the western Pacific Ocean, particularly around Australia and Indonesia, it exhibits a flattened body and lobed fins, characteristic of wobbegongs, aiding in its bottom-dwelling lifestyle. Despite its interesting appearance, the Ornate wobbegong is not commonly found in the aquarium hobby, due in part to its large size and specific care requirements.
