Sleeper banded goby Profile

The Sleeper Banded Goby, Amblygobius phalaena, features a coloration of pale brown with darker brown horizontal stripes running the length of its body, complemented by a white underside. It is native to the Indo-Pacific region. This species of goby possesses a long, slender body and can grow up to about 6 inches in length. In the aquarium hobby, the Sleeper Banded Goby is moderately well-known, particularly appreciated for its sand sifting behavior that makes it beneficial for reef and marine aquariums by helping to keep the substrate clean.
