Freshwater needlefish Profile

The Freshwater needlefish is a slender, elongated fish distinguished by its needle-like appearance. Predominantly greenish to silver in color, these fish are native to freshwater habitats in Southeast Asia. They possess a long, beak-like mouth adapted for surface feeding. Freshwater needlefish are not particularly well-known in the aquarium hobby, primarily due to their size, specialized diet, and requirement for a sizable aquarium to accommodate their swimming behavior.
