Tank Setup

To accommodate a group of Venustus cichlids, ensure your tank is adequately sized, with at least 75 liters of water per fish. Since they exhibit social behavior, maintaining a minimum group of six individuals is recommended. These fish prefer a diverse habitat, occupying the surface, middle, and bottom levels of the tank. Due to their semi-aggressive nature, provide plenty of hiding spots with rocks, caves, and plants to break the line of sight and reduce stress from territorial disputes.

Maintain the water temperature between 24°C and 28°C and a pH level from 7.8 to 8.5, ensuring stable conditions to mimic their natural environment. Venustus cichlids are resilient, but regular monitoring and moderate maintenance of water quality are essential to prevent any health issues.

Feeding
