🐠 Breeding

Pavona corals reproduce both sexually and asexually, though in aquariums, asexual fragmentation is the most common method of propagation. Hobbyists often frag branches or plate sections, which, when placed in stable conditions with strong lighting and moderate flow, can reattach and grow. Sexual reproduction via spawning is rare in captivity due to the challenge of replicating natural environmental cues like lunar cycles and water temperature fluctuations. Successful fragging and stable water parameters are key to encouraging healthy regrowth and spreading in the aquarium setting.
