🐠 Breeding
Breeding the Pink Skunk Clownfish in captivity is relatively straightforward compared to other marine species. Like other clownfish species, they are protandrous hermaphrodites, meaning the most dominant fish in a group will become the female, and the second most dominant will be the breeding male.
- Breeding Setup: Provide a tank with anemones and plenty of hiding spots. The pair will likely choose a secluded spot near the anemone to lay eggs.
- Spawning: Females lay eggs on a flat surface near the anemone. The breeding male will fertilize the eggs and guard them, ensuring oxygen flow by fanning them with his fins.
- Fry Care: Once the fry hatch, they are free-swimming and will feed on tiny foods like rotifers or newly hatched brine shrimp. They require a plankton-rich environment during their early stages.
