❤️ Care

To thrive in captivity, the Pink Skunk Anemonefish requires an environment that mimics its natural habitat, ideally with anemones to form their characteristic bond. However, this species is relatively hardy and can adapt to life without anemones if they are not available.

  • Tank Size: Minimum 100 liters (26 gallons) for a single pair. Larger tanks are required for community setups or if hosting anemones.
  • Water Parameters: Maintain water at a temperature between 24-27°C (75-80°F) with a pH of 8.1-8.4. Salinity should be around 1.020-1.025.
  • Tank Setup: The tank should include plenty of hiding spots, live rock, and, if possible, host anemones such as the Heteractis magnifica or Stichodactyla gigantea to allow the formation of their natural bond.
  • Diet: They are omnivorous, feeding on a mix of frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and marine flakes or pellets. A varied diet ensures vibrant color and health.

Though generally peaceful, Pink Skunk Anemonefish can be territorial, especially when hosting an anemone. They are best kept in pairs or small groups, where one will become the dominant breeding male and another will transition into the breeding female if the pair is stable.
